    GMC-IH

I was not clear on this reply that you knew it was a fuel gauge selector, or I would not have made this post: Now as far as a 3 tank valve, 2 ways you can do that. First, 3 electric fuel pumps with a flapper check valve on the outlet of each pump. Turn the pump on for the tank you want to use...

    THM350C alternatives or keep it?

When cruising, the TH350C the converter should lock, dropping the RPM's about 300. Better fuel economy than the TH350. Otherwise the two trans's are the same. A 700R4 is a bolt in, but with your 3.23:1 ratio axle you would probably want to switch the axle ratio lower.

Wheel almost fell off while driving…help

Hard to tell from your picture. Possibly the wrong lug nuts for those aftermarket wheels? They are very large tires with a lot of offset for a half ton truck.

Did you figure out this switch? I have another guess. Many 1950's vehicles did not have canceling turn signals on the steering column. Pop had a 1959 MGA with the signal switch in the center of the dash.

    GMC-IH

Early 1960's IH's had two small fuel tanks, fill in each front inner fender well. The tanks, outboard of the frame, running back under the cab. They had a rotary switch to switch the fuel gauges. Running through the center of the rotary switch was a pull cable that operated the mechanical tank...

Blowing Turn signal fuses when put into reverse

Hey Hotrod, E flashers and brake lights are hot all the time. The turn signals and backup lights are key on and they share a fuse. @knuckledrager You looked at everything? Remove both backup light bulbs from their sockets, look for damage or a shorted bulb. Engine running, try reverse without...

Factory 3 point seat belt harness.

Very little publicity. High dollar settlements with hush clause.

Factory 3 point seat belt harness.

The seat belts in the later squares are the GM type B buckles. They can and have failed on impact. GM used so many of these buckles through those years on all models, a recall would have put them out of business. Was cheaper for them to payout the legal claims. Me, I did not worry about the...

    Ice Cube Fuse Fail

@RanchWelder Sometimes you need to be a detective to fix a problem someone created. I can clearly see the copper lug you speak of and it does not belong there. The top stud where the load should be connected shows no heat load.

    Lowering truck

Yes, or you can drill a new pin holes in the rear axle saddles, forward of the original pin hole. 1 inch to 1 1/4 inch center to center. This will move the axle back.

    Spider gear reinstall?

Put one gear in with the bushing. Turn one side gear so that spider goes past the pin hole. When you go far enough you can put in the second gear and bushing directly opposite of the other. Put the axle C clips in. Turn the whole diff so the pin hole is facing out and slide the pin in.
