Not bad considering. I may check that out on the next one. It’s priced higher than blasting but is probably worth it depending on how far you are taking the project.
I was watching a Cletus video the other day cleaning the paint off a helicopter. I’m not sure what they were using but I want...
Those shims are a pita. I did all my shimming on my current project with 1/16th stainless washers. I picked up some 1-1/2” and 2” ones off the jungle website. At one point my shop had the horse shoes everywhere but with washers you can adjust and tighten without them falling out. Is it...
Getting close to ordering bumpers for my project and I pulled a front off a 87 truck I have here for parts to find it will not bolt up. Any solutions that do not require chopping the horns? Will a 76-80 bumper fit the front clip of a 85/6?
Ground strap everything- Battery to frame, frame to motor, motor to firewall, frame to cab, frame to bed, etc. Jumping around kinda indicates a loose ground.
Vintage air and install yourself. It can be done in a weekend if you are comfortable taking your interior apart.
Still have to run the AC lines and install the compressor on this one.
So this has been sitting soaking since Saturday. Still no move forward-reverse hand/strap wrench/breaker.
Going to let it sit a while until I get my blue project to the point of dropping off at shops for exhaust and such. Also, going to file for a bonded title for it before spending any...
I did this since the glow plugs were out. Made a filler setup from a paint gun cleaner bottle and tubing. Got a good bit of the mix in each one. Currently cleaning our pool and need to get back on my blue project so will let it sit a day or two.
Also- the comment about the power source...
I pulled the glow plugs out and tried. Its locked up or something else odd. The starter pushes but then when you let off it goes back. I cannot turn it with a breaker bar either.
This is with the glow plugs out so there shouldnt be any compression.
lol so would that not fix the issue of them not coming out? This is actually my second 85 6.2. I pulled and gave the last one away but figured it might be worth a turn before we bust out the wrenches as short of the wrong color hood/fender it’s a complete original truck that doesn’t look like...
So I noticed this on the marketplace yesterday and I was working on the pool so I scooted over to pick it up. It’s a K10 with 6.2 engine. For what I paid I didn’t even pull the dipstick or even ask if it ran because I bought it for parts (bed, frame for a future project and small bits for my...
Corners are in easily fixable condition, drivers floor is pretty much flintstone level. I’ll snap photos tomorrow.
Frame is straight- no issues that I’ve noticed.
Wiring harness is in place and I haven’t noticed anything cut vs unplugged.
ETA- moved to FB
ETA- this isn’t a part out. You have to take it all or nothing.
I picked this up for parts here and the and nuts/bolts. It was a brown truck but was painted white at some point but overall that doesn’t really matter. Basically I’m done with it and my wife is on me about...
I get it, we all have different ways of going about it and the results are generally the same. The current problem with your tank is it’s a fixed turned neck tank forcing you to go to the passenger side with a possible ability to flip it around and go drivers. There is a thread/ vid here...
